So, where did it all begin?

I truly believe it’s important to know the person who will stand beside you throughout your wedding planning journey and on one of the most significant days of your life. Planning a wedding brings a wonderful mix of emotions: joy, excitement, anticipation - and at times, nerves and overthinking. My role goes far beyond organising beautiful details; it’s to guide you calmly and confidently, ensuring the experience feels positive, enjoyable and genuinely special from beginning to end.

After completing my law degree in 2006 - one of my proudest achievements - I hadn’t planned to leave the legal world behind. A short “break” helping a family member with accounts at her PR firm led me into the world of PR and events, and I quickly discovered where my heart truly lay. I began planning press trips across London and Europe before joining a leading London events company.

Over the next 12 years, I worked with four established event and wedding companies, leading their private event departments and planning weddings for incredible couples. I found my true passion -  working with couples to help navigate their wedding vision. Helping couples carve out their dream-wedding supplier-team, whilst ensuring they enjoyed the process became my sole purpose. Weddings became my world and helping turn ideas into a reality became my profession.

In 2015, I experienced the magic from the other side, marrying my now husband over four unforgettable days in Bodrum, Turkey, surrounded by 300 of our closest friends and family. From welcome drinks in an orange grove and a vibrant henna night in a private garden, to a beach ceremony framed by palm trees and a grand finale exploring turquoise bays by boat - it was everything we could have dreamed of and more. That experience deepened my understanding of what it truly feels like to be a couple at the centre of it all.

In 2015 - after 12 wonderful years within London’s leading event companies, it felt like the right moment to create By Sophie Amor - a business built on deeply personal service, trusted industry expertise and a genuine commitment to each couple’s experience.

I am also incredibly proud to be married for 11 years to the man who inspires and supports me daily (and still surprises me with flowers “just because”), and to be a mother to two wonderful children who are my greatest joy.

When I’m not immersed in weddings, you’ll find me on the side lines of a football pitch cheering on my eldest, covered in glitter and sequins with my youngest, training for a long-distance challenge (very proud to have ran the London Marathon), or travelling with my family in search of sunshine, palm trees and adventure - often in Turkey, our second home.

I feel immensely fortunate to have found a career that I genuinely love. Supporting couples at such an important moment in their lives is a privilege I never take for granted - and my passion for what I do is something I bring to every wedding, every time.
